I tried many things in order to fake the detection in order to get it to boot on my valid partition without having to enter these 4 lines each times, but I haven't found a way to do this so far. Maybe because it doesn't take in account the fact that the extended partition enclosure is also a partition. This lets me thinking that there is a bug in GRUB4DOS which make it assigning the wrong partition number to a successful detection, thus making it trying to use the partition having the number detected minus one. If you hit enter on Directly Bootable ISOs or Windows XP it should bring you to the Grub4Dos screen where you should see 3 options for Windows XP and then an option for each of the Windows ISOs and any other ISOs we added using Try Unlisted ISO don’t worry about the wording we will customize that next. In a previous try, I set a bootloader on (hd2,5) and it was detected as (hd2,4), which is actually the extended partition enclosure. If I hit ENTER just after, the system boots normally (with the Grub selection menu).īut the strange thing is that on that screen, you can see that the boot loader was detected as (hd2,6) whereas I actually had to use (hd2,7) in order to actually boot.Īs (hd2,6) is a SWAP partition, I think it may be normal that its system is unknown.

You may delete any of the entries if you dont need them. There are many entries ready made by default after installing MultibootISO.

Grub4dos boot from cd install#
Hi Marcus, If you dont want to be prompted to boot from the WinPE 2.0 CD or DVD, delete the bootfix.bin file from the ISOboot folder before creating your WinPE 2.0 CD/DVD. After install MultibootISO into pendrive/External Hard Disk, it support for booting many OS or programs. But on Vista WinPE, what should i set to straight boot to CDROM Marcus NormalHere is a screenshot of what I can see when typing these lines: boot from CDROM in BIOS, On XP Winpe, remove bootfix.bin can straight boot to CD.
